Newstone Global is a feminist research and learning collaborative specialising in participatory, security-aware and rights-based research in fragile, conflict-affected and politically complex contexts. Our work focuses on gender justice, women’s rights and the protection, agency and collective power of women, trans and non-binary human rights defenders.

Newstone Global is a small, highly specialised collaborative of experienced practitioners. This structure allows us to work closely with partners, remain flexible and responsive to context, and offer a level of engagement that is often not possible within larger consultancy models.

We work across multiple contexts with community-based organisations, feminist and human rights movements, NGOs and government actors to produce rigorous, contextually grounded research and learning that informs policy, advocacy and practice. Our approach is rooted in intersectional feminist methodologies that centre lived experience, collective analysis and ethical, non-extractive engagement, particularly where participants face heightened risks.

Our consultants design and deliver research, analysis, monitoring and learning processes that are iterative, participatory and responsive to context, recognising that sustainable and meaningful change depends on the knowledge, leadership and agency of those most affected. We place strong emphasis on safety, consent, care and accountability, integrating social, political and cultural analysis into every stage of our work.

Alongside research, we support partners through training, facilitation and learning processes that strengthen feminist practice, protection strategies and organisational capacity across diverse contexts. Our consultants are supported by a small core team, enabling us to deliver high-quality outputs while remaining flexible, collaborative and responsive to the needs of our partners.

Across our work, we are committed to producing knowledge that is not only analytically robust, but usable, accessible and oriented towards impact, supporting movements, organisations and institutions to advance gender equality, human rights and justice in complex environments.
